DIY Coffee Flavor Combination: Ideas?
submitted about 11 years ago by [deleted]

I have a friend who enjoys a coffee flavor and he wanted me to take a shot at creating a coffee flavor for him. He currently vapes one that he says is called Java. I'm not a fan of coffee, but it was quite a decent flavor when I vaped on it. Thought I would try and come up with something he enjoys.

Corsair sent me a $20 rebate today and I decided to pick up some flavors. A few of these I want to use to try my first coffee flavor and I thought I would get some input.

He kind of jokingly said that I should combine a tobacco with the coffee so that he could have his coffee and cigarette in the morning, so I ordered a tobacco flavor too. I can't imagine that would go well combined with anything, but I figured why not. It's a little over a buck for a 8ml bottle.

What I ordered (not all for the coffee flavor):

  • Caramel TFA
  • Cappuccino TFA
  • Coffee TFA
  • Cotton Candy TFA
  • Gummy Candy TFA
  • Marshmallow TFA
  • Mtype Premium Tobacco TFA
  • Sour TFA
  • Strawberry TFA
  • Whipped Cream TFA

I also have: LA Vanilla, TFA Cheesecake (Graham Crust), TFA Sweetener, LA Peach

What I was thinking was a combination of coffee (primary flavor at maybe 10-12%), marshmallow (about 1%), whipped cream (about 1%) and possibly 1% of cappuccino and caramel (along with maybe 1-2% sweetener).

Thoughts? Or any thoughts on flavors that work with coffee or other good coffee flavorings (like diff styles of coffee types for example)?

Just for giggles I'm thinking about also combining: cotton candy, gummy candy, strawberry, sour and sweetener.

Most the coffee's are very strong. I wouldn't start any higher than 6%

And skip the sweetener. Yes it sweetens, but at the expense of dulling every other flavor in the mix.

I still haven't met a coffee flavored juice that I like, but I'm a coffee snob. Coffee is a very complicated flavor profile. At best, everything I've tried ends up tasting like some kind of cheap coffee candy.

Chocolate is another very difficult flavor with similar profiles.

Big fan of gummy candy. Usually I run that at between 5-10% and a secondary fruit flavor at 2-5% depending on the fruit. I add strawberry around 5%. Cherry or lemon lime around 2%. 1-2% menthol goes well too.
