Melon type clones?? Or your own original melon type creations?
submitted about 11 years ago by Default_MoFo

So I'm making my first DIY order. Already got my PG/VG/NIC and supplies figured out. But now the hard part... Flavorings! I am a huge fan of most melon type liquids.

My personal favorite ADVs are Summer Solstice from Moon Mountain Vapor and Spew from the MBV gwar fluids line. So i'm looking to see if anyone has cloned these? Or maybe recipes of your own? Also would like to hear your guys prefered vendor of melon flavorings?

If you are digging on Melon profiles. Might want to create some Honey Pearry clone. 'Tis a simple mix if you have the mixings. The Honeydew gives it's all, in that profile. Tastes sweet and wet, like a melon.

  • 6% Pear (TFA)
  • 4% Strawberry (CAP)
  • 4% Honeydew (TFA)

Not much guidance... But I find the (TFA) Kentucky Bourbon tastes good with most melons. Just be mindful, the booze is a fickle mix. Done right, nosh!

Thanks for the input duck_butter! Yeah honey Peary is definitely going to be on my list of creations to try/tweak. I only didn't mention it cause I've found clone recipes everywhere for it. However the Burbon idea sound quite interesting. Thanks again for the input!

EDIT: sorry /u/duck_butter. Although I personally like "dick_butter" better lol

:) Funny enough and was ok.

I've been experimentning with what I suggested on melon and hooch flavors. I nailed a Chocolate and Burobon mix and started to expand into cocktails. Melons seems a good start. One itteration I got brewing seems to be looking very promising. Hence no guidance as of yet. Perhaps next monthly recipe thread, I will have something for all to nosh on.

I was considering doing a Strawberry Koolada Rum thing in the future.

TFA Cantaloupe, Honeydrew are both really good. Cantaloupe is on the weaker side by nature. Honeydew is stronger and something you may recognize from various popular juices. Papaya is good in small amounts as well, but it has a more bitter Papaya rind thing going on. Mixing these in different quantities can yield some good results. I like to add a little banana to make a smoothie type thing. I do think you could get away with adding something more bright and acidic to bring out the flavors more, perhaps apple, strawberry, and most definitely like 1% lemon. Using sour or koolada could always be a good addition to alter the taste.

I made the Honey Pearry clone that is mentioned by /u/duck_butter but I have not tried it yet, it was smelling really loud.

I would say avoid adding EM or any sweeteners at first just to know what you are really working with. Some of those things can actually detract from flavors.

I've been wanting to try something like

7% TFA Cantaloupe

7% TFA Blueberry Extra

maybe 1% TFA Ripe Banana?

It's on my list of mixes to experiment with.

Yeah seems like it would be really smooth, not in a good way exactly. Like not bad but kinda meh. I wonder if adding apple or something would sharpen it up a bit. Maybe a tiny amount of lemon. I just say this bc I make a lot of juice like you are wanting to do and it is never quite amazing. 1% banana would prob have that mystery flavor appeal.

I ended up making a small bottle with 2% Pineapple instead of Banana. Also added 2 drops of TFA Sour (10ml bottle). Will report back later today with how it tastes.

Remind me to listen to you. It may need steeping, but this tastes pretty nasty. I get absolutely no blueberry taste, I just get a bland mixture with that awful cantaloupe aftertaste that TFA has.

Melons and BilBerry play nicely. :) Toss a schotch (1-3%) of Blueberry Candy and it'll add smell body.

The Honey Pearry Clone is really sweet and doesn't need any help with EM. :) I would expect it to be like snorting a packet of sugar. If you add any sweeteners to it. The only additons could be menthol/Koolada.

The mix is good right after mixing/shaking it like a bad baby.* Give it two weeks and it'll be as good as it will be. Should have a sort of neon yellowish color when fully mature.

*Shake the mix until micro bubbles happen. Let them settle, repeat once more. Good enough to test vape.

watermelon goes nicely with menthol... if you're not into the minty aspect, a touch of koolada is nice as well

I've done just plain 10% TFA Honeydew or 10% TFA Cantaloupe. Both were perfectly vapeable and delicious. I've been wanting to try a cantaloupe and blueberry mixture, but I haven't experimented with it yet.

Honeydew is REALLY strong. @ 10% it would be near tasteless or harsh and make you cough.

Try 3-6% for single flavor Honeydew. Same for Watermelon.

Cantaloupe (TPA) 5% Honeydew (TPA) 4% Koolada 10% (TPA) 2% Menthol (DIY 50/50) 1% Pear (TPA) 6%

Im not 100% on if its TPA or not I got the cantaloupe, honeydew, and pear from lucky 7 vapes before they closed :'(

BEST Melon Flavor I've ever had... Cyclops Vapor Poseidon!

Not quite sure of a clone but it's the only juice I am willing to actually purchase instead of mix myself.

Space Jam Pluto is a wonderful melon bubblegum vapor. Try cloning that. .
