Why do some of my liquids turn amber but some stay really cloudy?

What flavor are you using that it is turning cloudy like that?

The color change is from the nicotine oxidizing.

I think it might be tfa root beer, not sure though.

Your probably right, tfa root beer does turn very cloudy, if you heat it up it should turn clear again.

Is it just me or is tfa root beer no good? I can't seem to do anything right with it.

I'm not sure exactly how this correlates, but certain flavors seem to come out cloudy for me (TFA Cinnamon Red Hots, TFA Root Beer, TFA Sassafras), and after researching these flavors a bit, I've found that these flavors are also known to be tank crackers. TFA's website lists their Root Beer as containing triacetin. I'm not sure if the flavor is an oily one or not, but both oily flavors and triacetin containing flavors both appear to have some risk of cracking tanks. I always assumed the cloudy flavors contained oils, and that the cloudiness was small oil droplets that won't mix into the PG and VG properly, but it's certainly possible I'm wrong. Some of the above flavors do seem to clear up after a short steep. I've been meaning to try mixing them in glass bottles instead of the plastic ones I normally use, to see if there is any effect at all on the cloudiness. May I ask, are you mixing into glass or plastic? Also, is the Root Beer you're mixing the one containing triacetin, or the Root Beer Float version?

I've noticed this when I'm messing around with pg/vg ratios. also how long and what is your steeping method?

I usually take a 15 ml bottle off of fresh mixed juice to sample. I make my juices from 60/40 to 90/10 vg/pg and steep it in a rice cooker for about 12 hours. The cooker gets about 120-160 degrees and noticeably mellows out the flavor afterwards. I usually let it sit for a few days after that since I have alot made already. Some just doesn't get the same color. That one on the right is Max vg.

When I use Flavor West Pear my juice is cloudy like that. When I use TFA Pear it's crystal clear then turns yellowish after about a week.

I make a licorice juice with Lorann's at about 90/10 vg/pg and it does this. Doesn't affect taste at all.

I used to make the same thing with a 60/40 vg/pg ratio & didn't get any clouding.

Cloudy is normally an indication that it will separate from the VG, although I only really have this problem when a juice is over 90% VG. If you heat the VG before mixing it sometimes helps these flavors blend better.
