Strawberry v. Ripe / Blueberry Candy v. Wild (TFA)
submitted about 11 years ago by HowToFuckMixologist

Hey! I have both regular strawberry and blueberry candy, but recently I've seen many recipes with blueberry wild and strawberry ripe. Is there a large difference between them? Is any one better than the other? Thanks!

I prefer the ripe and wild. Blueberry wild and a touch of tfa honey is awesome. The regular strawberry is too perfumey/bitterish to me.

I use SB Ripe for the aromatic and Capellas Sweet SB for the flavor. The SB Ripe has an awesome smell to it but the flavor is a bit lacking so a bit of CAP Sweet SB balances the mixtures very well.

i like the strawberry ripe more, it's more powerful. i feel as though it's much sweeter. as for the Both Blueberries, neither was strong enough for me, so i moved over to the Flavor west Blueberry, but the issue with that one is it's very very sweet in high %'s

Also I believe Bilberry is a mixture of a Blueberry Wild and the Candy, being a more in the middle option for people looking for that type of thing. Has anyone used Bilberry?

I haven't tried blueberry yet (I have two on the way), but strawberry: I sort of like strawberry ripe - especially with other flavors - but I like plain tfa strawberry best. It's sweeter, which I like. For me, it's been easy to overdo it with strawberry ripe because the flavor seems... stronger, I guess.? And actually using both strawberry and strawberry ripe is really good.
