Care the share your lemonade/limeade recipes?
submitted about 11 years ago by SumDudeYouKnow

I have had zero luck in making a decent lemonade or limeade flavor. I have quite a few different lemon and lime flavors, but the resulting mixes always taste weird. Anyone have a realistic sweet/sour lemonade recipe?

I'm ordering a new batch of flavors and I'm definitely going to try your limeade flavor out.

For the Limeade flavor, have you worked with reduced flavorings in this recipe? I would think 25% flavoring is a lot.

If I wanted to reduce it down, should I just half everything?

I know this is an old post, but I was looking up Lemonade recipes and came across this. It sounds awfully blackout city-ish. Have you made any progress with this, or how did it come out?

I have not made any progress... Not even the progress of obtaining the correct flavors, hence the warning. I've been kind of slacking the past month on my mixing

Thanks for the update! It's one that I've been considering for my next project, so I figured I'd touch base with you after seeing this. Have a great week!

I've heard good things about FlavorWest lemonade. Going to pick some up myself soon.

I have tried some lemonade flavors from a few local b and m's. Most, to me are harsh and chemically. I've gotten close enough to enjoyable - to me - lemonades using 6-8% tfa lemon. And 2% sweetener. Most will like em sweeter. I've done black lemon using 3% fa black currant 8 lemon. 2% sweetener. (For lemonade I find myself liking stevia). I've also done 10% blueberry (cap) 6 lemon 2 sweetener.. After a couple days the blueberry shines thru

Chilled fuzzy Lime

3% Inawera Limetka

4% Inawera Peach

1% TFA Koolada

1% Champagne

1% ethyl maltol

Hope you like it. I have more I am fine tuning since I really enjoy citrus flavors.

Does Champagne give a fizzy mouth feel?

At 0.5-1.5% I get a bit of bitterness (the good kind) from TFA Champagne that's similar to what you might find in seltzer water. It really goes a long way for a soda-type flavor.

Which is sort of what I'm looking for, I'd really like to find something that replicates the mouth feel of carbonation though as well.

Unfortunately, no. It is more of a sweet taste. Koolada gives a little. But too much of it and the throat hit is pretty bad for me.
