Broken bottle of VG from RTS vapes not refundable or replaceable, DIYers beware.
submitted over 11 years ago by Sonix207

This is just a follow up of another post asking about if it would be a good idea to use VG that had been leaking on its trip in the mail. I bought the liquid from RTS vapes, contacted them and sent pictures and they said all they would do is give me $10 store credit. That's not even enough to cover shipping from them on a new gallon. First time trying DIY and i get bad customer service that will be the only time they see business from me.

Contact your credit card company and have them issue a chargeback. If you didn't receive the product in the condition you expected and they refuse to replace it then you deserve your money back and you should never do business with them again.

I second this suggestion. Plus if you do that, don't be surprised if RTS re-cants what they said and will offer to send you a replacement so long as you give your money back to them.

I don't buy from RTS Vapes either. You can just as easily get the VG locally or from more reputable vendors. That's pretty grimy that they wouldn't refund you. It's blatantly their fault for not packing it correctly.

I guarantee that the gallon they sent you cost them MUCH less considering they buy by the 50gal drum... Sending a replacement would have been extremely inexpensive on their part, but they chose to soil their customer service reputation instead.

I would ask that anyone in the DIY community avoid purchasing from RTS vapes in light of this information.

Damn, RTS has been very good to me, and they have fixed all the problems I have had on multiple occasions, either to my satisfaction or beyond.

  1. I forgot to add a bottle of PG to my order, which would have qualified the order for free shipping. I emailed to see if I could add it to the order before it shipped. They could not, so they credited my account $7.80 so I could get the free shipping on my next order. This was completely my fault, so their actions were above and beyond.

  2. They sent me some stinky nic. I emailed them, and they sent a good replacement quickly.

  3. They forgot a 30ml bottle of EM with one order. Emailed them , and they credited my account per my request.

This is silly that they would not fix OP's problem.

I don't order from them because their prices are obscene. $5.85 for 10ml of flavor?

Which flavor is that? How much do you normally pay and where?

Although they sound like they fixed number 2, the simple fact they sent bad nic in the first place is VERY disconcerting. You would think they'd have it in cold storage if they can't cycle their inventory fast enough.

Yeah, I don't buy my nic from them anymore. Honestly, I don't buy anything but Flavourart or Hangsen flavors from them, and after this simple debacle that OP has experienced, I doubt that I will be buying anything from them again.

There is a new vendor that just started up not far from me, and they carry Capella, Inawera, TFA, and FlavorWest, and they are going to carry FlavourArt soon. I can live without Hangsen flavors, honestly. The prices are awesome. The Inawera flavors are a little pricey, but that is to be expected. http://www.bullcityvapor.com/

Given how quickly negative feedback spreads over the internet, It's sad that lots of vendors still fail to realize the importance of good customer service.

Instead of replacing the $40 gallon of VG and retaining a potentially long-term repeat customer, they pretty much guaranteed that he will never spend another dime at their shop. Good job RTS.

$40? thats outrageous.

If it was damaged in transit it may be worth talking to the shipping company to see if they'll cover it?

1 points

by irsavantover 11 years agoTobacconist

That would be up to the shipper to file the claim with the shipping company.

If the package was insured, it should be covered for the full value of its contents.

Ahhhh ok, over here it's the other way around, recipient can file the complaint.

It looks like it was leaking from around the cap area. Dealing with shipping companies is pointless unless it was insured before it was shipped they will tell me to pound sand.

Contest it with your credit company and get a new supplier.... And keep spreading the word.

Sorry for your trouble OP but I wouldn't trust their VG anyway. Check out essentialdepot.com I recently found out that their VG is palm based and apparently some people that have allergic reactions to VG do not with palm based. Also it adds almost zero flavor to your mix with the exception of a little sweetness.

I can't be sure what happened, but it appears that Wizard Labs dropped or somehow got my 250mL of 6mg overfilled. The label was noticeably tarnished from the PG. But they sent an extra. It's not like it was a broken bottle or had any other defects. It seems they'd just as soon send it to me as toss it out. And I'm fine with that. 500mL for the price of 250mL

Same thing here except ecig express. 100mg nicotine 250ml bottle, came with label smeared, and what looked like a puddle in the packaging. Emailed them, and within 2 hours I had a tracking number for a new one in my emailbox

Both have been great companies to work with. Never used RTS.

Just ordered VG from WL and the cap came off during shipping. The sealed bag it was in was filled with the whole bottle. They sent me a new one immediately. Love me some Wizard Labs.

I ordered most of my stuff off WL and everything came nicely packaged the only reason i didn't get my VG from them is they were out. :(

Tell them you are going to do a chargeback. I bet they change their mind pretty quick.

Why waste the time and a threat to them after they were stubborn on the issue? Skip them and send a picture of the mess as well as a screenshot of the conversation with them showing that they will not make it right to your cc company. They will most deal with them on the issue.

obviously if they dont respond or act stubborn again the next action would be chargeback. I guess you could just go ahead and do it but the other way would feel more like a win.

Find a local soap and candle supply wholesaler in your area. You can get gallons of USP VG and PG for much cheaper than anywhere else.

Don't need RTS, I was internet shopping for batteries a while back and couldn't even view their web page. They said my browser was to old so I bought my batteries from another vender who didn't feel the need to tell me what browser to use. Sorry RTS you looooose, better get it together.

Upgrade your browser! if RTS was telling you it's too old holy hell, you'll be crawling with viruses soon, guaranteed.

WHY!! The browser I have works just fine it does what I need it too with no problems. I have anti virus in place and working. The only site that didn't work was RTS. They need to worry more about how their going to sell batteries and less about their customers browser. GUARANTEED virus, well maybe but not yet. I would like to se the first virus proof computer. CRAWLING with viruses!! Ain't gonna happen.

I'm making an assumption here but it sounds to me like you're using an outdated version of Internet Explorer. And since it's an old version of IE you must also be using Windows XP, which is no longer supported by Microsoft. That means it can be exploited continuously without worrying about the exploit being fixed.

But whatever. I don't care what the hell browser you use. Didn't realize the browser admiration was so strong here... jeez.

Unless a website knows what useragent I am blocking. They can go fly a kite... Viruses.. You must use Windows.. Myself, I worry about escalated privileges. Sure, go on and guarantee, I will be infested with a Windows bianary issue or someone else (like viper6665) could have that vendor specific issue!!

I've always had a love/hate relationship with RTS. They are located in the same city as me but their shit always takes 3 days to arrive after placing an order. They do offer pretty good prices on most flavorings and are convenient as a one-stop-shop but this is terrible to hear. However, it doesn't surprise me.
