Had a B & M ask me if I would be interested in selling a recipie to one of my juice blends. What are all your thoughts on this?
For myself, I'd consider it considering 2 things:
- I won't be living here much longer so I will not be making money from the locals here anyway...
- They won't buy my blends pre-made so I may as well make some money VS. no money....
So yeah, what do you all think?
Royalties are pretty hard to collect on as they basically run on the honor system unless you partner with them and require number statements which involve contracts, etc. It becomes a pain in the ass.
What you should do is simply deny the sale. Sure, you won't be able to sell to the local residents anymore from that location, but what's to stop you from doing internet sales exclusive to that location?
Think dynamically and chances are you can capitalize.
I heard a local here got monthly commisions because a brand using his recipe. How about you try to get the same thing?
