Wal-mart flavors
submitted over 11 years ago by neotrin2000

Ok, so we were in the grocery section of wal-mart and seen a number of extracts. Some were Watkins brands and some were McCormick. The ingrediants of both are PG, Alcohol, water, and artificial flavor. To me, if the alcohol is ethyl alcohol, then all the ingredients are ones we already put in our juices. What's everyone elses thoughts on this? Safe?

Ignore those flavorings, and go to the cake decorating aisle instead. It's normally over by the birthday cards and party stuff. In there you'll find the Lorann's flavors. Raspberry and strawberry I know Walmart has, and sometimes you might find butter rum or butterscotch. The menthols, cinnamon, and something else (I forget) are oil based, so avoid them. You can use the root beer, cherry, and apple (if Walmart has them). I go to Walmart, JoAnn's, and Michaels when I get my Lorann's (and if I need them).

There's a thread on ECF with a listing of the Lorann's flavors that can and shouldn't be used according to the ingredients.

Mine has Raspberry, Watermelon, Root Beer, Pina Colada and maybe a few others that aren't oil based.

Try to find a cake store in your area, they'll have a bigger selection of Loranns. The Bavarian Cream is really good and crazy strong.

(or just order what you want online)

I make most of my own flavorings in the kitchen. I just get some simple basics from here and there when I need them. I have raspberry, strawberry, English toffee, root beer, and butterscotch from Lorann's. I have a bottle of creamer, a bottle of menthol, and a bottle of sweetener from my local B&M. The rest I make myself, and so far I have two types of coffee, two types of tea, a vanilla, a cinnamon, a rosemary, and a fennel/aniseed which isn't really coming through on the flavor when vaping (which is kind of weird because it's crazy strong when you dab a bit on your tongue).

Interesting, I kind of meant that towards the OP.

How are you extracting it? Just letting it soak in PG? I'd like to try some cardamom, garam masala and other spices.

I have tried the Watkins vanilla. It was OK, nothing special, not very strong either.

For the money I prefer the more concentrated flavorings.

The Watkins raspberry is fucking disgusting. The cherry works but it's not great.

The strawberry and banana are easily as bad bit the coconut is pretty good, would be allot better if it wasn't weak.

There's been no studies done on the dangers of vaping flavors. Is it safe? Nobody knows. Will it work like other flavorings sold for eliquids? Yes.
