I recently picked up some TFA RY4 Double and was blown away. It's a great flavor for people that like sweeter tobacco vapes a la Boba's, Jango, or El Kamino. I have great results mixing at 12-13 percent. Some of the criticisms leveled at it target the heavy caramel flavor, which I can understand but ultimately disagree with, since I think the caramel and tobacco are perfectly balanced.
However, I've found that to really make it great, you should add a drop of TFA Smooth (helps tame the tobacco harshness, I'm not a fan of it) and play around with sweet additives. an extra 1% of Cheesecake w/ Graham Cracker (TFA) adds a whole new dimension to the juice. Has anyone else played around with this flavoring? I'd like to know how you dress it up, so to speak. :)
I like it at 8% with a smidge of diluted Acetyl Pyrazine, and am currently working out what percentage of TPA Banana Nut Bread to add. Currently I have the above recipe with 4% Banana bread steeping. (I mixed the dregs of a test bottle of banana bread and dRY4 together to make a full tank a few weeks ago and it was pretty tasty). Double RY4 also works with a bit of TPA White chocolate too.
tell me more about the white chocolate! nearly every time i've tried to use it I get a chemically taste to it, what percentage would you add?
I wish I had a good answer for you as I'm still working on it! I do find the one I got seems to burn if I vape it at higher than 4.2 volts. Apparently TPA changed the formula and the old one had sugar in it? I haven't actually done any sleuthing though and maybe I have an older bottle. While it doesn't taste chemical to me, it doesn't quite taste like real white chocolate, so I use it as an accent flavour at lower percents (3-5%) because it does seem to add a hint of cocoa butter,sweetness and creaminess. I've had no luck using it at higher percents or as a standalone or main flavour. I also do my mixing at 70 to 80% VG, and seem to have picky taste buds, so YMMV. :)
I got a bottle of Acetyl Pyrazine for another recipe that i haven't had time to try out yet, but can i ask, what sort of taste/effect/flavour does it give?
It has a nutty-corn chippy taste. I use mine diluted (4 drops in 6mL of PG) as I find it strong, but if you use straight, just start low with it, a drop at a time as it can overpower you mix easily. It gives a bread-y, nutty taste that works with bakery flavours and tobaccos.
I mix 5% with 5% cinnamon danish. My fav tobacco vape.
i find it to be a caramel/vanilla/graham/sugar flavor, not a bad thing inherently, as i like it. but i get absolutely zero tobacco flavor from it. this is why i add m-type and fire-cured to it always.
as far as tfa ry4's go, the only one i like as is, is original ry4, preferably aged for 2+ months.
My ADV is my own blend of Asian RY4 (TPA). It's Ry4 with a difficult to describe flavour, but really nice. Probably more tobacco-y than a straight RY4.
I also add a little hazelnut, bavarian cream, marshmallow, vanilla and dulce de leche to it for a nice even and smooth flavour that's a bit nutty too.
