How much, estimated, would it cost to only make pina colada?
submitted over 11 years ago by mtx0

I use a lot of pina colada e juice and have decided to just make my own. No interest in making anything except that really. What ingredients would I need for a high vg 6mg blend of pina colada? And how much would it roughly cost? Thanks everyone!

|What|Price|Quantity| |:--|:--|:--| |100mg/ml Nicotine|$24.49|250ml| |VG|$3.97|473ml| |Pina Colada|$5.00|30ml| |DistilledWater|$2.73|3785ml| |1oz Dropper Bottle (0048-08)|$0.67|1| |Syringe Set|$2.99|9-pc Set|

Total: $39.85

Results:

|Ingredient|ML|Drops|% of Total| |:--|:--|:--|:--| |Nicotine|0.06|1|6| |PG (From Flavoring)|0.01|0|1| |VG|0.82|16|82| |Water|0.05|1|5| |Pina Colada|0.06|1|6|

The above recipe will create 1ml of flavoring. Because the mixture is 9% PG and 91% VG it will be very thick so use water to thin it out. The ingredients above will yield:

|Ingredient|ML Yield| |:--|:--| |Nicotine|4166| |VG|576| |Pina Colada|500| |Water|75700|

So, using the lowest ML yield amount (flavoring) you can make 480ml (16.23oz or 1 pound) of mixed ejuice before you have to replace something (flavoring). Comparing that to what you can purchase you're saving around $293.30 (not including shipping) for the same amount.

Good luck!

Woah, it's so freaken cheap. I'm in the same boat as OP - I really only care about one flavour (anise and anise related things.) Would you be able to recommend me a high quality anise flavour? I'm totally new to DIY and I don't even know where to look.

LorAnn sells a really high quality licorice flavor that I always hear good things about. Use it very sparingly as it's really powerful.

I may have to give that a try. I went to purchase some LorAnn products at a local store and they were all colored so i passed. You dont happen to know if it is clear do you? I would guess it is as all the black licorice flavoring i have been has been clear.

I use the black licorice from Flavor West, i love it and mix it with menthol for a kick sometimes.

Flavor $5.00 Nic 15.99 VG 13.97 Sweetener 5.00 Syringes 5.20 Calculation Software Free Start up total: 45.16 before shipping. Recipe: Pina Colada: 15-20% to taste Sweetener: 3%

Why should I be trusted: I own, run and mix my own premium juice company. PM me with anymore questions.

bulk flavoring is cheaper

$5/oz vs. $2.19/oz

to OP: 1oz of flavoring at 15% will make ~196ml, at 20% you get ~147ml

more math:

mixing at 15%

if you buy 1oz to start, your first 196ml will cost ~20 cents/ml. your next 196ml (assuming you just buy another ounce) will cost 2.5 cents/ml. this isn't 100% accurate because it uses the total startup cost for the first 196ml and then just the cost of flavoring for the next 196ml (since you already have nic,pg,vg,etc). but it gives you an idea. the recipe calculator when set up properly will tell you actual costs.

using the same semi-flawed method above,

if you buy 4oz to start, your first 788ml will cost ~6 cents/ml (factors in +$3.75 price difference between 1oz and 4oz). your next 788ml will cost 1.1 cents/ml

Should try to get away from Sucralose. I'm one of those people with some kind of strange allergy to every artificial sweetener like sucralose I've tried.

OP might want to substitute it with ethyl maltol or something like that.

I forget what brand but there was a juice I was looking at in a B&M a while back that actually had aspartame as an ingredient on their label. I was floored.

I pointed it out to the employee and they were like, "Yeah when I DIY I just use sugar."

I almost palmed my face straight off my head. :P Just curious but what juice do you make? :D I wonder if I've tried any~

I use plain cotton candy flavoring as a sweetener, the flavor is nearly neutral and it is sugar.

I've heard good things about cotton candy and marshmallow, as well. :)

Depending on were and how much of the ingredients you buy, anywhere from 3-10 cents per ml. Check out the price break down in the side bar along with all the other helpful info there.

The little Lorann's drams of pina colada are so super strong you likely only need a drop or two per 10 mls.
