Haha I "jumped in" too, but on a lower budget. 6 8mL flavorings, ethyl maltol crystals, and koolada. 500mL VG, 250mL PG, some syringes and needles. It's a good start for $40, might even make some cash selling to my friends. I am brooooke now though. Hopefully I'll get this job I'm applying for soon, wish me luck :)

Also, enjoy your mixing!

Good luck brother (or sister)! Hope you get the job and can re-up on your ingredients!

Something that I did to start that really helped was to not mix them at first.

I did 10ml single flavors all at 10%. One for each flavor I received. I kept a spreadsheet as I dripped them to determine if 10% was too high, too low or spot on for that flavor. Then I adjusted each that wasn't spot on, until it was as good as it was going to get. It took some time. But now, I can pretty easily recall any of those flavors in my brain, and have a great starting point for %'s to use when mixing. I'm actually amazed sometimes at how quickly I can nail down a mix now.

Good Luck!

"The first rule to becoming a master of any subject is to forever be a student of it."

First heard this as a child and to this day I attribute it to my severe OCD. :/

Edit: Quotes.

D: When I was in martial arts as a kid my instructor always said that to us.

My mom wonders why I'm all OCD about things, especially new things. It's her fault! She was the one going, "Oh, she needs a hobby! She should do martial arts!" DAMMIT, MOM!

My first mix tasted like a cough suppressant and tinfoil.

100mg/ml nicotine. Moment of silence for brave OP.

Is that why the room is spinning?

To be fair that's "ONLY" 10% nicotine. You wouldn't want to get it in your eyes, but skin contact isn't actually the end of the world- just wash it off quickly!

I know... I took a sip of it earlier today and only vomited twice!

There is definitely a reason so many start with small batches. I'm just starting too and so far it has been hit and miss, and I'm just doing single flavors batches. On a positive note the unflavored batch I did as a control was OK so at least I know the base is decent. Grin. So much to learn.

Yep. I have yet to meet a mixer that doesn't have at least one total flop under their belt.

How much did you spend on all the flavors?

2 points

by Jesus_Died_LOL_84over 11 years ago

Everything (flavors, nic, pg, vg, bottles, syringes and syringe tips cost about 150$... Flavors were 1.50 a piece and I bought 30 so flavors alone cost 45$

Are they TFA or various brands? I know wizard labs stocks a few.

Edit: is it 10ml per flavor?

by Jesus_Died_LOL_84over 11 years ago

Yes 10ml bottles and I would guess that about 20-25 are TFA I have a few lorran in there too I believe...

by Jesus_Died_LOL_84over 11 years ago

by Pwndocover 11 years ago

It's good it'll come out to about 70/30 your forgetting the flavor is pg
