These are the three things I have definitely learned with this first week of making my own e-liquid. 1.Always buy more bottles then you think you'll need. 2.I should have bought more syringes/blunt tip needs than pipettes. 3. I hate the viscosity of VG.
I concur with your first week's findings. :-)
As for syringes... you might want to look into the SEOH Pipette pumps along with various sizes of pipettes for them. I absolutely love'em. So much easier to work with and also for the 1ml pipettes very smooth and accurate. Less hassle than syringes.
Also, I had no problem with the viscosity of VG with any size of the pipettes and the pump. Except that I had to push the top instead of using the pump release because VG just doesn't move as fast with just gravity doing its work.

etc. They have various sizes pipettes for these things and also a pump size larger than the 2ml and 10ml ones.
Graduated cylinders make mixing larger amounts much easier. Especially when dealing with VG.
Just to let everyone know catheter tip syringe's are.the best for vg in my opinion.
Since I bought a 14 gauge needle it made working with AG a lot easier. Now I need to buy more. And yes more bottles.
I think what I've learnt along the way is also blindly buying flavours that sound good is risky. Checking out a few recipes and picking some common ingredients is proving to be more successful.
I went to the cvs pharmacy and asked for the syringes for child meds. They are 5ml and VG work perfect! And best of all they will give you some for free!!
Asking for syringes of almost any size is kinda sketchy for me in my town. We have a pretty bad herion problem here and someone my age asking for syringes is frowned upon, but the worst they could say is no I guess.
Actually, they would be giving you syringes easier WITH a heroin problem in town, alot of pharmacies give away syringes left and right for that reason alone, reduced risk as if somebody cannot get a fresh syringe they will just use a dirty one. Ey, least it helps.
Here's a few tips. Warm up your vg, it will make it easier to suck up into the syringe. When switching to blunt tips remember the needle is bigger and the syringe measurements don't account for that, 18 gauge needle holds .1 mls.
The way I see it, is that it will always hold .1 ml. If you start with an empty syringe, and draw liquid til the plunger is at 2 ml, the liquid will be at 1.9 ml and there will be an air bubble. Push the plunger, and you dispense 2 ml of liquid. If your tip is filled with liquid and you draw until the plunger and liquid level are at 2 ml, there will be no air bubble and when you depress the plunger 2ml will be dispensed and .1 ml will stay in the tip because there was not air behind it to replace it's position.
