If you use flavors with alcohol, it isn't going to smell so great in the bottle. A representative of Laphroaig scotch taught me the proper way to smell their whiskey, and it works for some of our flavors as well. Dab the tiniest bit of flavor on one of your palms, then rub both hands together fast enough to get them hot. Smell your hands! This evaporates the alcohol, and lets you fully experience the scent.
