Are there any DIY websites like this currently?
submitted over 11 years ago by lsavag3l

I am very new into DIY. Actually just made my first batch today and really trying hard not to vape it all up with the assurance that it will taste even better in a week or so.

But as I am looking around at new recipes, I am realizing that I need to make more orders for flavors. I had an idea for a website that would serve as a recipe database, but also would enable the user to list their ingredients, and allow them to see all recipes they can make with the flavors they have.

I really think this would help new users like myself that don't have a whole lot of flavors yet, and would just like to see some starting points for recipes that others have found.

I am a developer by day, and wouldn't mind putting something like this together in my free time, but only if it doesn't already exist. Let me know if it does or if you think there would realistically be an interest for something like this.

E-Liquid Recipes has lots of recipes, and search by flavor stash :)

I just came to realization that proper heat works just as well as time for aging a juice, so save yourself a couple weeks and vape up!

Check out dot1ml.com. You search for the flavor you have and it will list recipes that use it. Not the greatest, but good.

Appreciate the tip. I will check it out. Just will make life easier as I'm building up my flavor collection.

I posted this exact same thing yesterday! I too have had the same problems.

Unless I'm mistaken the other suggestions here don't do what we want. They allow you to search for recipes that include a single flavour. They don't list all of the recipes you can make from your available flavours.

As I have been reviewing them, I am noticing the same thing. The only problem I see is that a site like this would require heavily on user input to really work out. But I think it could be really cool.

If you work with us here, and keep on top of fixing/adding things, I think it would do well.

If you need some help with anything, I'm a web developer and can chip in if needed... The thought has crossed my mind to start a new diy recipe site.

User contribution is hard to gain, but if the site is easy to navigate, looks good, and is super easy to add recipes, I think it shouldn't be a problem.

I had this same idea pop in my head several days ago - basically, a Supercook for DIY juice. Started doing some of the research into what it'd take to put together - I was a developer/designer up until several years ago, and I'm looking to get back into the field. I figured it'd be a good way to refamiliarize myself with SQL, learn jQuery, and help a community I really care about. I'll probably still do it, regardless, just to get the experience, but if you'd like to collaborate, let me know! My expertise is primarily in design, but know my way around javascript/DOM/SQL. Great idea, though! :-)

Hey, I'm trying to make an android app that accomplishes exactly this, and have also reached out to the guy behind 99juices. I also got some interest from /u/TheXyster in the mobile app. PM me for more info.

The biggest feature addition that would attract me on your site (if you go through with it) is once you rate a recipe as good, an algorithm to suggest recipes to users based on other users that have rated the same recipes as you highly.

User Abe likes: Strawberry mist, Jokers blood, Coconut cream, and Pesticide fluid.

User Gale likes: Strawberry mist, Jokers Blood, Tropical Sunshine, and Mothers milk.

Suggest to user Abe: Tropical sunshine, and Mothers Milk, and suggest to user Gale: Pesticide fluid and Coconut cream

Enter the flavors you have, see all the recipes you can make.

Never took off so I stopped working on it. :(
