I did a titration on two of my juices that contain koolada and it seems that the koolada is killing the nicotine. I have a 24 mg that tested out at 20.2825 and is only 2 weeks old, another 24 that's 1 month old tested at 6.4904. I have both recipes at 2.5%. They taste great and I really didn't notice till I did the test. I tested 6 total bottles and they all came in low. I re-tested some other juices I knew were 23.5277 and they came up the same. Any thoughts besides cutting the koolada drastically.

I'm no chemist, but is it possible that the koolada is messing with the test results rather than actually impacting the nicotine itself? Just some food for thought; this might have no basis in reality.

Good point, need to test a solution before adding koolada, then immediately after, then weekly for a month or so and document the results.

If the nicotine drops of gradually,then it's the koolada killing the nicotine, if the nicotine drops off immediately and remains constant, then it's the koolada affecting the test.

That is a great method for testing. Wish I thought of it. Post back with the results if you don't mind. I am curious as to what you find and others here might find it useful too. :-)

I don't have a test kit anymore, ran out of the stuff. When I get one I'll test for this myself, until then I suggest that OP try this experiment.

I tested older juice with koolada and it was 18 mg less than it was started out at. I have tested, no koolada juice as old as 6 months and it came out at 23.338 mg of nic.

Yeah, that doesn't rule out the idea that koolada could be giving you false results rather than "killing" the nicotine.

Even the experiment I suggested leaves some room for speculation. For instance, koolada could be affecting the test more and more over time. The only way to test is to find alternative test methods and try those too. Unfortunately the options are expensive.

It's like 8 bucks for the test kit and the test itself is really easy. As long as you can tell the difference between blue and yellow, abd can keep track of how much hcl your putting in, it's easy

Ah okay. I remember titrations in high school chemistry, could you use phenolphthalein as an indicator for this situation?

I'm sure you could, you are just changing the ph with the hcl and measuring how much it took to neutralize the nicotine. The kit comes with byomathene blue. I know I spelld that wrong

Am I selling said fluid? - Nope

Does said juice seem to be lower than I made. Koo, it's not detrimental to me. Few 'ponits' lower than I want... I expect my 8mg/ml to be that, on a curve - or lower. Do I expect the NICbase to be what I purchased? Hell YEAH.... I don't want it to be higher than expected/ Lower for me is chain vaping.

Wierd that Koolada droops the levels though.

I tested the koolada the same way as I test the juice. It started out yellow, which means it's ph is close to water. I then added 2ml of juice to test to see if it is affecting the test. The titration came out consistent. It is certainly not the ph of the koolada affecting the test.

My next test is gonna be on wifes menthol nic juice to see if menthol kills the nic too.
