Color change from clear to this after 3 weeks of steeping. Too bad I was sneaking juice away while it steeped because this tastes phenomenal

The same here with my HP clone. TVC said when he makes the original Honey Pearry it is clear but turns bright yellow after steeping.

It's the TFA Pear and Nicotine interacting I think.

Have noticed it in every juice I made with TFA Pear and nicotine.

spot on.

It's true. I actually like it best when it first arrives, clear and tasty. After it ages for awhile, I really don't like it that much.

I have some coolcumber melon from tvc from last summer and it's the pretties shade of salmon-pink. I burned out on it though, so have to wait until I like it again.

Bite the bullet and pre-make 8 weeks worth of juice. You have recipes that work for you so you can make lots and not make a lot of crap. For me that's like 10 30ml bottles, max. When you hit the 4 week mark, make another 4 weeks worth, rinse and repeat so you're always a month ahead. I usually make 3-4 months worth when I get down to 5 bottles or so, so I always have tasty cured juice. I'll admit some flavors are really nice 1-2 weeks old but they won't always be 1-2 weeks old. I've found once they hit 4-5 weeks the flavors don't change much. If I have that juice on hand for 6 months, it's always going to taste consistently yummy.

I usually make 10ml samples of new recipes. In the meanwhile I vape spearmint as an everyday choice since I used to smoke menthols. If I like the juice after a week or so of steeping- I make around 100ml and set it aside. So far Honey Peary and Banana Nut were the only decent ones. I also have some snake oil and snake venom samples steeping.

I have the same problem of sneaking some juice off too. This is what I got out of my bottle of HP for the last twoish weeks

I thought I made a lot of juice. Damn!

It's pretty normal. I've had more intense flavors turn even more brownish before without affecting the flavors. It just looks kind of gross. This is why some places add coloring to their flavors. I'd rather a juice look gross and taste amazing than look great and taste like shit.

The chocolate, tobacco, desserty flavors do that - they get the prettiest deep brown color. I'd never add coloring, and won't intentionally vape anything that has coloring in it. I abused my lungs enough for too many years as it is..

I ve never had anything so drastic. The only juice that got really dark was Graham Cracker from Mt Baker. I forgot about it for a month. It turned chocolate brown and tasted ridiculously good

I don't think anyone who makes their own juice can leave it alone to steep.

Dude, I made 100ml of each. I have maybe 40 left. Every damn time

I just mixed up some Capella sweet strawberry and it smells like a hamster cage. That one can age for awhile before I try it... Blah!

Don't even try TFA honey flavor then. It smells like fresh skunk spray

gross! I heard about that honey flavor in this sub...

It smells like sweat to me or feet. I absolutely love the flavor of clover honey, but the smell is such a turn off.

You should see my fathers vanilla ice cream, its a mix of a few flavors from FW and TFA. But man its pretty much shit brown. I thought I fucked something up on my mix and replaces the bottle. The second bottle looks exactly the same. They both taste amazing according to him so now he just has extra juice lol. Tastes too strong for my tastes, but I prefer light fruity flavors anyway.

55% Vanilla Bean (FW), 30% Vanilla Custard (TFA), 5% EM (10% in PGA) and 2.5% Sweet Cream (TFA) and Koolada (TFA). I add the koolada, just because I didn't like the mouth feel without it and sometimes throw a little more in if it doesn't feel right and thats why I leave a 5% opening in my flavor mix (95% total). I also sometimes add a little more EM for the same reason as koolada, not selling so it doesn't have to be perfect everytime. I'm still not 100% happy with it, but I'm never 100% happy with anything I make haha. I usually mix that around 10% to 13% for him and 5% to 8% for me, but I prefer a lighter flavor on my mechs.

Edit: I know I use a weird mix measuring system, if anyone wants an example of a 30ml mix with this recipe let me know and I'll break out my calculator. I use this measuring system since I'm mixing flavors in advance of actually mixing up the juice usually.

Sorry had a funeral today, as soon as I get back to my computer I'll get the recipe on here for you guys.

How long did this steep for? I did a honey pearry clone with 8% pear, 4.5% honeydew, and 2.5% strawberry. I added a touch of sweetener and sour. Right off the bat it tasted good but I set my 30ml of it aside to steep. How long should I age it?

2 points

by danglingppover 11 years ago

At least two weeks. All flavors are pretty potent, so they have to break down and mix well. Add just a tad more pear though. Honeydew overpowers it.

1 points

by TR0LLTACULARover 11 years ago

I noticed that, the honey dew is hella strong. Thanks!

TFA Honeydew?

1 points

by danglingppover 11 years ago

I used all TFA flavors for the afore mentioned formula. Works great. Like I said, up the pear a bit since it's somewhat subtle and gets overpowered

1 points

by ojimbeover 11 years ago

Hmm, Honeydew is pretty powerful. I love TFA Pear, but it's the one flavor that gets muted if I vape it reguarly. Have you tried this recipe with Peach (Juicy)? I still have 3 oz of it left, while I've went through 4 oz of Pear.

Mind sharing your banana nut recipe?

2 points

by danglingppover 11 years ago

Not at all. For a subtle flavor use 4% ripe banana and 6% peanut butter. This suits for everyday vaping. It's nice and mellow. For a more flavorful experience- 6% banana and 8% peanut butter. This mix works best for drippers. Both have to be steeped at least a week. Juice gets REALLY good after 3 weeks of steeping. Honestly, it's my favorite flavor so far

Wait until you see what TFA Honeydew does! Ha! Pink honeydew.

1 points

by danglingppover 11 years ago

This is TFA honeydew

1 points

by PlusYawover 11 years ago

Strange. Mine always turns pink after a week. But that's just straight single flavor. So maybe that's the difference.

1 points

by danglingppover 11 years ago

Come to think about it, I did have pink honeydew juice back when I was buying premade stuff

Isn't anyone concerned by the unknown chemical changes occuring? I imagine TSNA content goes up considerably.

1 points

by danglingppover 11 years ago

Still better than smoking

1 points

by dkreezyover 11 years ago

I agree but safer vaping is better than reckless vaping. Smoking is so ridiculously harmful that "better than smoking" is not much assurance.

2 points

by danglingppover 11 years ago

I get where you're coming from. Keep in mind that all flavorings are food grade, pg and VG are not known to possess any harmful effects. The only thing you have to watch out for is artificial coloring. Which very few people in this sub use. If you're really worried about things like that, you shouldn't vape. Also keep I mind that you inhale far worse things and in greater amounts from exposure to exhaust fumes on a daily basis.

2 points

by danglingppover 11 years ago

Besides, the only TSNA in e juice is nicotine. I use 0.5 mg/ml. Can't go lower than that

1 points

by toolongtospellover 11 years ago

I must of missed something. TSNAs? I did a bit of googling and found some info but didn't understand it. Care to give a one sentence run down?

1 points

by dkreezyover 11 years ago

TSNAs = Tobacco Specific NitrosAmines

These are carcinogens derived from nicotine; as tobacco cures, TSNA content increases

I'm wondering if the steeping process increases TSNA content. Simply curious, it's not as though I'm gonna stop vaping at this point
