Have at it!

This month, try adding some Koolada to your recipes- it gives a nice cold throat hit without the menthol taste!

  • 1-2% = Icy
  • 2-3% = Freezing Breath, lips starting to freeze
  • 3-4.5% = Too much, I'm frozen!
  • 5%+ = Cough/Hack (Too much to use for real)

All TFA..

Sweet Stuff:

4% Srawberry Ripe 7% Peach | 1% Coconut | 3% BlueBerry 1% Cotton Candy

Very nice in my dripper, wife does it in her MPT2 @ 2oHms

I had issue finding a nice mellow Grape - Apple combo..

Grapple:

7.5% Grape Juice 7% Green Appple | 1% Honey Dew

All my mixes are "hot" mix. ... I use desired flavor amounts in the bottle I intend to use. Sit the (now bottled) flavors in very hot water, until the mix heats up. Then I add my cold bases ontop of that. (After I remove the bottle from the bath. Once it cools, I then do the actual mixing of flavor and base.)

How is the grape juice and green Apple? Have you tried it with regular Apple?

2 points

by duck_butterover 11 years ago

Apologize for the late reply.

I have not tried it with regular Apple before. I find myself liking the tart of the green, versus the sweet of the Grape Juice. It seems to cover each other nicely. Adding the melon flavor makes it soften nicely, and gives a 'wetter', juicy sensation. Plus it does not kill/overpower each flavor in itself.

It does need a bit of sit time, to get rid of the perfume flavors. Once it sits, tastes rather nice. A mixer could perhaps move up the Apple and Grape by another 3%. For a more intense flavor.

by wedabbinabout 11 years ago

Hey... Late reply, but how does the "hot" method work differently?

1 points

by duck_butterabout 11 years ago

It makes the flavors easier to mix and use right away. Since they are looser and any alcohol is near gone. After a good hot bath for the flavors.

Cold Strawberry:

  • 10% Capella's Sweet Strawberry

  • 5 drops (I know this is a bad way to measure. The menthol was an after-thought) menthol (I made 50 ml).

This was my first venture into Capella's, and I REALLY love this strawberry flavor.

This is also quite good using the same recipe, exchanging cappella's for TFA.

it's a good idea and many people in this sub know and use it. there's even some recipe floating around where someone made a cake base "cakestone."

i use my version of milkstone all the time

Yee milkstone!

I had to sub Vanilla Bean Ice Cream for lack of Sweet Cream so I think it's somewhat lighter than the original Milkstone.. Good thing I included SC in my recent order.

Ry4 that came out great, all tfa:

Double ry4 12%, caramel candy 2%, Bavarian cream 2%, toasted marshmallow 2%, and one drop per ten mil of vanillin and AP. Just keeps getting better the longer it ages!

i've been struggling with my tobacco flavors so much. i can't seem to get them right, but maybe thats because i'm still not giving them enough time.

i blend i'm working on right now.

15ml's total .7mls of Turkish from TFA 2.3mls of Vanilla Custard From TFA 80VG-20Pg

i blended it on 4~2~14. do i just need to wait longer?

I am a huge fan of thug juice from Mt. Baker Vapor so I decided to make some variants to try out. This is the best one I came up with:

Classy Thug

  • Pomegranate 6%
  • BlackBerry 5%
  • Champagne 4%
  • Menthol 4%

by billgarmsarmyover 11 years agoFrugivore

you probably know this, but i recently discovered that fw jungle juice at around 15-20% with a bit of sweetener and a touch of extra menthol is indistinct from mbv thug juice to me.

I did not know this, thanks for the info!! Still pretty new to this DIY thing but going to have to try this very soon. Looks like FW is going to have to be the next place I order flavors from.

2 points

by hupaover 11 years ago

You can also get 15ml of thug juice flavoring for 3 bucks from mbv. Just got some and mixed it at 15% and its pretty solid. Going to go down to 10% on the next mix to see, but I'm thinking 12 may be were its at? (looks like its cheaper from flavor west, but you have to buy more at a time).

This took some wait time, to get nice. So it did not smell/taste like wood glue. Still working on a final form, but it works nicely right now. Very smooth and has got a nice pop taste. I was shooting for Vanilla Coke, but I like this direction. A tasty failure.

No Name yet

  • 10% Cola Syrup (TFA)
  • 11% Vanilla Swirl (TFA)
  • 3% Bavarian Cream (TFA)
  • 2% Cotton Candy (TFA)

Might consider adding some Koolada to cool it down.. It could work and be an EyeSee Cola. Right now it is really, really close to a Cola Slushy/ICEE flavor.

2 points

by TDL4LIFEover 11 years ago

I too was looking for a vanilla coke. Stumbled on this little gem...

7.5% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream 2.5% Coke 2.5% Ripe Strawberry .5% Pineapple (for carbonation) 1% Koolada

1 points

by duck_butterover 11 years ago

Is that Coke 2.5%, real Coke, Coca Cola or a flavoring of some type? I found the Cola Syrup (TFA) gives a nice carbo/sparkle on the tongue sensation, without adding other flavors. (Some use Champagne, to achieve sparkle sensation. Like the Pineapple you're using.)

I ordered some Vanillian to get a stronger nilla flavor. Which should get it as close to Vanilla Coke, as I could get. Right now, vaping against the real thing. It's really close, but lacking punch in Vanilla.

1 points

by TDL4LIFEover 11 years ago

(TFA) Cola. I've made it with Vanillian and also Vanilla Swirl. The Vanilla Bean Ice Cream seems to give it just the right amount of sweetener. I'm sure if you add 1-2% sweetener to the Vanillian it'll be right on the money.

P3 - 8% pear, 4% pineapple, 6% pomegranate, 2 drops sweetner. Actually turned out really good.

Red, white and blue - 10% strawberry, 5% marshmellow, 3% blueberry extra with a little sweetner.

Orbitz melon mint gum (told it tastes sorta like space jams Pluto) - 6% honey Dew, 2% apple, add mint/menthol to taste.

Cinna-Cide - 8% red hots, 2% hot chili, 5% Watermelon (or coconut/pineapple), 2% key lime. Tastes like those hispanic chili treats if you've ever had some.

Jalapeño poppers - 8% jalapeño, 5% cream cheese. Tastes pretty damn close, but idk why you would want to smoke it. Lol

The Black Butler - 8% buscotti/graham cracker, 4% cappuccino, 4% French vanilla

All are TFA in 10ml bottles.

1 points

by sixoutover 11 years ago

Do the first two still taste good without the sweetner? I'm not a big sweet fan. I can do with like one drop.

2 points

by kallen8277over 11 years ago

Yes it does. That's how I made it. I just said to add sweetener because most people like it added in. If you like, add a tiny bit of sour to make the flavors pop.

Strapaloupe

  • Strawberries and cream - 7%

  • Cantaloupe - 10%

  • EM - 3%

  • Passion Fruit - 5%

  • Koolada - 3%

Add 1 drop of blueberry candy per 10ml of juice.

Edit: I mixed this last night and hot water bathed it and it's spectacular (imo) I haven't tried steeping it yet though

1 points

by peraziniover 11 years ago

I´ve found out that TFA Cantaloupe is very weak. In all mixes I used it, I need to put more that 10% in just to have a decent flavor.

1 points

by defnot_hedonismbotover 11 years ago

Yes at 10 it's actually pretty dominant I the mix though

2 points

by Militancyover 11 years ago

Something I mixed up this morning that turned out fairly well, still needs some tweaks.

All TPA/TFA

  • 5% Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
  • 5% Vanilla Custard
  • 3% Vanillanin
  • 5% Cinnamon Danish

Cinnamon is a bit too strong, I'd recommend trying it at 3%. As listed, the flavor is very custardy that leans a little too heavily into a snickerdoodle kind of cinnamon flavor. Tastes great but the mouth feel isn't right for the flavor, I'm going to experiment with adding Smooth. Also, I think that this recipe may work out well, albeit in a different flavor profile, with Dulce de leche instead of Cinnamon Danish.

Five Hundred and Fifty-Five Bonnies:

  • 8% 555 Tobacco (MTB DiY = FW)
  • 4% Bavairian Cream (TFA)
  • 5% Vanilla Swirl (TFA)
  • 0.5% Coconut Extra (TFA)

This was dump, mix and drip. Came out very nice if I may say.. That skoosh of Coconut adds a nice exhale. I might experiment with Mint Chocolate Chip, in place the the Coconut.

Here's a light and creamy flavor for you to enjoy. It needs some steeping - vaped fresh, FA Strawberry is overripe and overpowering, but it melds with the other ingredients and fades into a supporting note after a few hours in the crock pot or a few weeks in the cupboard. This recipe does require a two-stage mixing technique, but it's worth it in the end. I always make sure to have some cream base hanging around - you should too, if you make many creamy flavors. Everyone's cream base is different, so make sure to experiment and find the best for you.

Strawpeary Cream
50/50 0mg
PG 36.13%
VG 50%
Pear (TFA) 6.15%
Cream Base 2.50%
Strawberry (FA) 2.31%
Bavarian Cream (TFA) 1.56%
Sweet Cream (TFA)* 1.35%

*If you have FA Fresh Cream, substitute for TFA Sweet Cream for a lighter, cleaner taste

Cream Base
PG 25%
Bavarian Cream (TFA) 40%
Coconut (Extra) (TFA) 20%
Sweet Cream (TFA) 10%
Malt (Nature's Flavors) 5%

I ..I... you're insane for suggesting that challenge! 3 drops per 10 ml is strong enough for me, you mad man!

As for a recipe, this is one a friend gave me:

6% green apple(fw)

7% juicy peach (health cabin)

8% strawberry ripe (tfa)

Nice, simple flavor. May try it with some quince instead of apple next time though.

1 points

by E_Normus_Pen15over 11 years ago

I do 7% green apple & strawberry, 6% juicy peach, and .5ml per 10ml of honeydew (all tfa) and this makes a really smooth, complex mix

1 points

by TheSlovakover 11 years ago

I may have to try that. Don't have honeydew though.

1 points

by E_Normus_Pen15over 11 years ago

It takes off the sharp citrus edge to the mix and smooths it down, while adding just a hint of honeydew sweetness.

I wonder if this would work with ripe banana and Bavarian cream instead? Also is ethyl malto called smooth or sour?

1 points

by PimpinNinjaover 11 years ago

Ethyl maltol is a sweetener. If you use ripe banana you'll want to lower the %. Bavarian cream sounds like a great addition.

1 points

by TrupacShakurover 11 years agoMixologist

Sweet I think I'll try this next...I heard cotton candy is used as a sweetener would that work? I don't have ethyl maltol only smooth and sour.

by A_Green_Lemurover 11 years ago

This is the recipe of which I am most proud to date. Great in my Russian 91%

After I mixed 10ml of this, I made a 50ml and then another batch of 75ml because it became an ADV for my brother, my girlfriend and me. I think the butter adds more TH than flavor, and next batch I'm thinking of either leaving it out or putting in 1% sweet cream.

If you don't have Lorann's Super Strength Apple, you should probably adjust that percentage way up. Apple is the strong note in this.

The Solvang (Apple Waffle with Whipped Cream)

  • 7% Waffle Belgian (TFA)
  • 3% Waffle (Cap)
  • 3% Whipped Cream (FW)
  • 2% Apple Super (Lorann)
  • 2% Bavarian Creme (TFA)
  • Ethyl Maltol - 3 drops per 10ml
  • Sucralose - 1 drop per 10ml
  • (OPTIONAL) Butter Flavor (Lorann) - 3 drops per 10ml

EDIT: I made a new batch omitting the butter and adding 2% sweet cream (TFA) and it is even better.

UPDATE: I discovered that the apple is a lot more muted when not vaped in a Kayfun/Russian. So I mixed up a batch like the above (with sweet cream) and added to it 1% TFA Apple Pie and .5% Capella Green Apple. Now THAT tastes good in a Protank 2. Apple pops well.

  • Blueberry - 8%
  • Raspberry - 6%
  • Watermelon - 7%
  • Grape Juice - 8%
  • Bavarian Cream - 2%

I've loved the mixes with Watermelon/Raspberry, but couldn't get Blueberry going. Flavorful fruit mix, finally hit a balance between high and low notes. Since I don't have any EM, that can be also added.

If you try it out, please let me know with any improvements :)

by trabikoover 11 years ago

I mi 20/80 - 10/90 PG/VG ratio and lower percentages just don't leave a taste in my mouth. I'm usually in the 15-20% total flavorings region.

I'm a newb to the whole DIY game but I ordered some supplies and decided to mix up some juice. I made 10mL of juice with a 50/50 PG/VG mix, 10% TFA butterscotch and 5 drops (yes I know) TFA sweetener. I'm surprised, it is very good. Not too strong, not too sweet. Just right.

4 points

by InertiaCreepingover 11 years agoJust another Moderator

Haha "(yes I know)" :P Don't be afraid to use sweetener, but don't be afriad to not use it. I make and sell thousands of bottles of juice a month and don't use a drop of any sweetener.

Try adding about 5% of caramel candy to that 10% Butterscotch, maybe 1% vanilla swirl, and ditch the sweetener. You'll have a creamy, full-bodied vape that won't taste artificial!

1 points

by WombatCyborgover 11 years ago

I'm a bit of a flavourart fanboy, so all of my recipes use their flavors:

Golden Grahams: Honey 2% Cookie 4% Vienna Cream 2% Ethyl Maltol 2%

EM is kind of a necessity in this flavor, as the cookie and vienna cream have odd aftertastes without it. The honey and cookie meld together to create a graham cracker flavor with a body to it, while the vienna cream creates a milky undertone that really sells the cereal vibe. Would be interested to hear from anyone who tries replacing the cream with milkstone.

1 points

by 3tern1tyover 11 years agoMixologist

Not sure milkstone would do that justice. This is one of my creamiest flavors to date http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/21974/Vagnerian+Canape

I'd like to see a base made from that for this purpose... In fact, I may refactor milkstone to a base with these flavors, though it is pretty amazing vaped alone.
