Hello all, I'm not completely new to vaping but up until recently if I needed something I would just go out and buy it. But recently I became enthralled by all this do it yourself stuff. Now I am taking a few years off from college for the military and will be going to basic in a few months (about 2 or so.) I have nothing to do and I'm really bored and want to start making my own e-juice.
My questions is: if I buy some ingredients and make my juices, will the spare stuff last 4 to 5 months for me to return from basic/ait?
I say if you can keep it in a gun safe do so if a freezer is not an option. Keeps it in a controlled environment plus it is locked away in a safe place.Just remember it is NOT KID FRIENDLY. I keep my extra nic, vg and pg there.
Since you are going into the military let me thank you ahead of time for the sacrifice you are about to give and all you are about to do for me, my family and this country!
if you're just making juice for yourself it should last you a fair bit of time. i've been at it for about 6 weeks and am now just running out of nicotine (started with 120ml of 60mg/ml). You'll probably have to make a second order of flavoring as well, after you figure out what you like. But, honestly, you could just buy a liter each of VG and PG then some 100mg and have like ~2000ml of 6mg unflavored juice. how long does 2000ml last you?
I'm not sure how long it lasts me, I've never paid attention to the amount I use over time. And I meant when I return from training will I be able to use the left over supplies to make more? Or will I have to buy more ingredients because the rest had expired?

Forever actually means a pretty long time, unless it's nicotine. nicotine oxidizes and reduces in potency, so it should be stored in amber glass bottles in the freezer. ideally the headspace of the bottle would be filled with an inert gas to expel all oxygen from the bottle, but you should be fine without it. nicotine stored properly in a freezer has a "shelf life" of, iirc, 1-2 years. so your flavoring agents (which are generally in pg) and pg/vg should be fine hanging out, your nic not so much. just keep the lids on and keep everything in the freezer if you can. if not, the nic definitely needs to be in the freezer.
I bought 120ml nic, vg, and pg, and 15 10ml flavor concentrates. I give away a lot of the juice i make to friends. I have plenty of flavor left, but have run out of vg. 60ml pg left. Nic at 80ml left. 250mL of each should last 4-5 months! Bought it all from wizlabs. Its the cheapest i've found.
Okay I've been meaning to ask this but I keep hesitating because it may be a stupid questions. What do you mean by 15 mg 10 ml flavor concentrate? How is it two different measurements? I mean, I know they would be different measurements, of course, but why do y'all say the mg then then ml?
he said 15 (bottles of) 10ml flavor concentrates. Nicotine/finished juice will be the only ingredient with a mg/ml and that just denotes how strongly the nicotine is concentrated in the solution e.g. my nic base is 60mg/ml, but I cut it down to 6mg/ml for my finished juices so I don't die of intensely bad nicotine overdose when I vape it.
I have a few flavors that are over 6 months old that taste the same as when I got them. Nicotine is best used within the first 3 months of purchase but you can use it 2 years later and it will still work but it will taste off.
PG and VG should be good almost indefinitely as long as they're stored in a closed container in a cool, dark, and dry location.
