Looks good, but I would reverse the pipettes. Storing them tip down, in something like wood, not so great.

Maybe some silicone down in there, but it would still be hard as hell to clean.

Really though, to avoid contamination, just buy a big box of them, use what you need at that time, and toss.

I have plenty of pipettes! I thought about tip up, but there usually isn't any residue to speak of left in the pipettes, and honestly the pipette storage was an afterthought so I didn't have room for a bigger hole! This is all personal use, and a result of questing for an ADV.

Man I hate those pipettes. Best day ever when I got syringes.

Well - maybe not quite best day ever. But a close second.

Wow! This is an awesome idea. You make them yourself or buy them from somewhere? I might have to steal this idea and put a twist on it.

Made them this afternoon, 3 ea 3/4 pine 2" x 36", forstner bit, regular drill bit, small drill press, and a sander. I may turn them into shelves eventually.

That's awesome I need to do something like this.

Found everything laying around in my shop. My flavor collection got unmanageable after the first month, so I had to do something. I have gotten some great ideas and recommendations from this post, so hopefully I will have a version 2 before long.

I literally had to buy shelving. But this would be awesome for my small bottles and their dedicated syringes.

Wow! Good to see you using separate droppers for each flavors. I know of some B&M's that have in house juices that don't even do that.

There are a few flavors that I wouldn't dare dip into other flavors! Acetyl Pyrazine, Red Hots, several coffee flavors, coconut extra, absinthe, any tobaccos, to name a few.

Just like chips, you don't want to double dip.

Forgive my lack of handyman terminology, but what about sealing it/making it waterproof? Then when shit gets messy (as it inevitably will), you can just wash it out in the sink.

You would need a different material. You could get some delrin block as it can be machined, but I'm sure about the bits you would need (wood or metal cutting).

I use this just as a holder. I pull the flavor before I use it, and only one at a time. I am curious what will happen when shit spills/drips though.

Kiln dried wood is pretty absorbent, I would leave it as is and replace it every 3-4 years. It probably funner to build a new one every few years than to clean it every few weeks.

I'd probably apply a spray-on spar varnish. Works pretty good for things that aren't going to be soaking in water. A quick rinse would be fine.

Don't use shellac though; alcohol dissolves shellac.

Just got a random idea..
You could drill a hole in the top of WL bottles just larger than the pipette, place a small thin piece of rubber over the opening with a small hole in the center and then store the pipette IN the bottle.
Just have to find some thin sheet of rubber or something with an adhesive back.
GG btw, looks pretty nice, a shelf would be awesome

That is an awesome idea.. I will see if I can find some rubber like they use on syringe bottles. I'm not sure how long the wood will last, but I intend to find out.

How are you going to take the caps off the flavors in the middle of the back row without knocking everything over?

I can move the boards around easy on the stainless table. Just slide the first two rows up and you can grab any of them easily.
