Have an addiction

I have not been doing diy very long but find myself using strawberry or banana in every juice I make. Do you have a certain flavor that finds it's way into your juices too much lol.

pear and coconut? I have all 3 of these flavors. Did you hear the hype about the bavarian cream though? Bummer. I got 4 ozs of it.

** Note: we have recently discovered that this flavor has a small trace amount of Acetoin

I only just mixed my first juices but I realized that every single recipe I chose has strawberry in it.

I LOVE strawberry! But my strawberry mixes are kind of terrible. I got strawberry ripe (tfa). And I mixed up a plain strawberry ripe liquid that got SO SMELLY (in a bad way) that I never vaped it and tossed it out. Any tips on strawberry?

by burnz1over 11 years ago

Maybe because it's strawberry ripe? Possibly try just strawberry?

I'm not sure, it smelled like strawberry dumpster!

How are you mixing it? What % are you using? I thought this would be great and it smelled like road kill :(

Strawberry ripe is one of my favorites lol

  • Dragonfruit (TPA) 10%
  • Ethyl Maltol 10% (TPA) 0.5%
  • Lemon Juice 0.5%
  • Milkstone (Cream Base) 4%
  • Strawberry Ripe (TPA) 8%

TFA's Pear. It goes so well with so much

by burnz1over 11 years ago

I have plenty of that. What do you like to pair it with?

by BongleBearover 11 years ago

Vanilla. Especially homemade vanilla flavoring. It seems to find its way into everything, but then it does appear to play nicely and go with everything.

Menthol. For me it really just accentuates the rest of the flavors and gives me that needed throat and lung hit to satiate the feel of analogs. Goes well with pretty much all fruits.

by scoopylooover 11 years ago

I use menthol a lot too. But I just made a straight menthol and I add a couple of drops to the tank instead of the mixed liquid. It would probably meld together better if I made a liquid with the menthol in it. Hmmm, I think I will have to give it a try, actually. :)

I need to figure out how to make a good sweet Menthol flavour that tastes like the heart of winter with a dusting of powdered sugar.

oh that sounds good. :)

Here's how I do mine:

I like my final PG/VG ratio to be about 60/40. It's the best flavor/vapor combo for my PT2 on my MVP2.

I start with the nic. I like 6%. I don't need the nic physically but I need it as an ingredient. For some reason the same juices just don't taste as good without it. Then I'll add the PG/VG to get my 60/40 ratio. Now that my base is good I'll start to add the crushed menthol crystals. This is, by far, the most challenging part for me. I haven't found a perfect method to measure the menthol dust so for now I'm using pinches. Takes about 3 pinches to get my desired menthol strength for 13ml of juice. Put the top on, shake it all up, microwave a half glass of water in a lowball glass for 30 sec and put my glass bottle in it for a couple minutes so the menthol crystals dissolve completely. Shake shake shake.

Now I have to cool it down so I have another lowball glass of just cold tapwater and leave it in that for a couple of min. Then I test. I just fill up my tank with about 1 ml of the menthol base and vape for a minute or two. If it's not enough menthol then I can add some more and do the heat/cool treatment.

Once I'm happy with the results, I'll add the flavors.

Now I just need to get a 60ml glass bottle or 2 and do this is bulk.

Oh wow, I haven't even put nic into the menthol juice, only because I just put a drop or two into the tank. Maybe I'll give it a trial with some nic in it. I also only did straight pg, no vg

I learned the hard way to CRUSH the crystals before diluting them :) I got the coldness down though. The first batch froze my hair follicles - that was too much! I don't have an actual recipe for the menthol, it was kind of an add and taste experiment.

Can I ask why you cooled it down with cold water after heating/dissolviing it? Are you then pouring off the parts that don't re-solidify?

Mountain Dew from TFA. I can't get enough of it.

Word, I like this one too. Do you mix yours with anything or straight citrus punch?

1 points

by Kleivonenover 11 years ago

Depends on my mood. I have 32oz of the flavoring, because I go through it really fast. I've found it pairs nice with lots of fruity flavors.

Strawberry and Bavarian cream, I just realized after looking over my recipes all the flavors had these inside of them. I decided to make something new and it turned out great haha, got burned out on that strawberry.

I use strawberry ripe a lot.

Also, honeydew or cantaloupe adds a "wtf?" That you can't really put your finger on, a lot.

graham cracker, bavarian cream, dulch de leche, vanilla custard.. one of them seems to sneak into most of my mixes..

I seem to make a nice little recipe and it taste nice, my brother likes it, I give out free samples those people seem to like it and then I always add 4% Bavarian cream because I think its missing it.

Funny you mention this, OP. I'm vaping on a strawberry banana mix right now. I'm a fiend for Strawberry, Capella's or TFA's, doesn't matter.. I like 'em both.

Menthol mostly, a lil bit just adds a kick to a lot of liquids

Yeah same here with the strawberry. It's in my three favorites : tigers blood, honey peary clone, and frosty flamingo (strawberry peach mango koolada mix).

Menthol. I can't vape anything that doesn't have menthol in it. Every time I try a juice from the local b&m that they think I'll like. My response is always. "This is really good. But it'd be better with menthol."

Which is your favorite? I think I prefer LoRann's blueberry but some of TFA is good too. Capella's blueberry always seems to weak.

Loranns blueberry is great, we used that and some of their new york cheesecake to make such a nice blueberry cheesecake. I've not had capella's although I've just ordered 4oz of their maple syrup and 4oz of their harvest fruits. Hangseng blueberry is quite nice too.
