I notice wizard labs has both marshmallow and toasted marshmallow. Has anyone ever tried both and is there a notable difference?
The description is spot on. Marshmallow is a creamy thick taste, and toasted is the same but with a slight brown sugar (maybe) taste. The toasted is definitely more a more pronounced taste. They work great for smoothing and sweetening flavors, but when you start putting high %s it will mute other flavors. I add a few drops of marshmallow every 10 ml to smooth out some sharp fruits. If its a dessert flavor I tend to use toasted.
They are both definitely worth experimenting with.
what about as a stand alone, i actually made a 10ml bottle the other day with 5% marsh and 10% toasted and my mom says it tastes like nothing at all.
Haven't tried them by themselves, or as a dominate flavor. I made a banana cream 8%, toasted marshmallow 8%, vanilla swirl 5%, it tasted like coffee creamer to me. Not even a hint of banana.
