I bought nitrile gloves and syringes for mixing, I have paper towels. I wear glasses so that covers eye protection. What are some tips? I guess I'm mostly trying to figure out if there is a possibility of splashback situations with syringes. I do have a 1 year old and a cat. I will be keeping my supplies in a plastic tote in my locked bedroom. I will be mixing on the lid of previously mentioned tote on my table in my bedroom. I'll be cleaning my nic syringe in my bathroom sink and cleaning the sink after. I will dispose of any containers,gloves,bottles etc.. in my locked bedroom trashcan and they will go straight from there to the dumpster.
Did I miss anything??

The first thing I do with 100mg nic is make most of it into a mixed-down base.
I know I like 50/50 PG/VG, 12mg nic. And I rarely ever go over 20% on flavor.
My nic is in VG, so I count that towards the VG total. And my flavors are in PG so they count towards the PG total.
I mix a 12:38:30 ratio of nic:VG:PG. Which is itself only 15% nic, requiring less caution.
Then when I mix, I start with 80% base, and add flavor, and any PG to bring the total to 100%.
This also means less cleanup after a mixing session.
And if I do want to try something with more flavor added, I just add more nic and vg as well. I know some people will use 30% or more flavor often, so they'd adjust the ratio accordingly. I chose those numbers since I realized from my notes that I was adding 1.2mL nic, 3.8mL VG and at least 3mL PG to every 10mL sample I made.

Not exactly. You could do it with just VG and nic. But I can work through an example for you if you tell me:

Is your nic in PG or VG?

Do you know the maximum amount of flavor you'll want? (If not, 30% seems to be the upper bound from the recipes I've seen.)

Do you know what nic level you want?

Do you know what PG/VG level you want? Or, if it changes, what range you want?
Here's what I do:
I mix a big batch of nic, PG, and VG. This is my base.
Since none of my flavors are in VG, I add all of the nic and VG I'm going to use.
And and since I might use anywhere from 1% to 20% flavor (which is in PG), I also add all the PG I'd need for 20% flavor.
For a 20% flavor mix, I just add the flavor and base at 20 parts flavor to 80 parts base.
So for 10mL, that's 8mL base, 2mL flavor.
And for 30mL, that's 24mL base, 6mL flavor.
For a 5% mix, I add 5 parts flavor, 15 parts VG and 80 parts base.
So for 15mL, that's 12mL base, 0.75mL flavor, and 2.25mL PG.
Here's another example of how I work it out:
Say you bought 120mL nic in PG at 100mg/mL, and wanted 24mg nic in your final mix. Say you might use up to 25% flavor, and want 70/30 PG/VG.
Your final mix needs to be 24% nic in PG. And it needs to be 30% VG.
Since your nic counts towards the PG total, you'll have 70 - 24 = 46% PG and flavorings in PG for your final mix.
Since you might use up to 25% flavor, the base has to be "missing" 25%, and that has to come out of the PG end if your flavors are in PG. But we can add enough PG to leave just enough "room" for 25% flavoring, or else <25% flavoring and make up the difference in PG.
Which means you can add 46 - 25 = 21% of your final mix in PG.
Putting it all together, your base will have:
24 parts nic, 30 parts VG, and 21 parts PG (and "leave out" 25 parts for flavoring)
Now 120mL nic will make 500mL of 24% nic juice. Say you decide to make it all into base. Since the base will be 75% of the final product, 75% of 500 is 375. So you need a bottle that will hold 375mL.
This bottle is 120 / 375 = 32% nic
So you make a bottle of:
120mL nic, 150mL VG, and 105mL PG. Your base.
And when you make your juice, you add 75% base, whatever flavor % you want, and enough PG to bring the total to 100%.
Well I want to mix two bases. One that's 12 mg for my kanger tanks and one thats 6 for my drippers. I have a juice calculator and it seems to confuse me less when I use that.
*My nic is :120ml 100mg/ml pg base
*My flavors will be 10% 3 flavors will be used in all my recipies
*I want a 40/60 pg/vg ratio
*I ordered 30 ml bottles

Then there is the sane way. Do you have and or use bleach, dishwasher soap, paint thinner, drano? Handle in a similar manner, do not drink it, pour it on yourself, or (most importantly) do not rub it into any orifices on your body.
If you get some on your skin, wash it off. After you measure it out, wash off the implements. Wipe up the area you have using to mix in. Everything CLEAN!! That's it! Its not going to kill you if you dip your tongue in the bottle (Cannot say the same for dishwasher soap, look on the back of the bottle) So why get all nuts about it? You handle more dangerous things EVERY DAY.
settle down..... breathe in breathe out.... if you handle it any different than you would a 12mg vendor juice you are irresponsible, take the contents out of that plastic bottle and put it in glass, after filling up something like a 30ml glass bottle that you will keep at your mixing station... put the big bottle in the freezer, use the better part of that 30ml bottle to make a base like others have said... each ml is like 7 cigarettes so hazmat suits seem a lil silly but is very responsible

Pretty straight forward. If you do it with water then dont do it with 100mg of nicotine.
Handle with lots of BSI (body substance isolation, for the less medically inclined) (thats right, treat it like its another persons blood and dont touch it). Including gloves, glasses, sleeves etc...
Contact with it CAN kill you. Quickly.
All that being said, your plan sounds adequate. Stay careful.
I work with 100mg nic on a daily basis. Contact with it will not kill you. Perhaps if you immersed your hand it in and left it there for a few minutes... I keep a moist towel handy, if I happen to get some on my skin (I mix with bare hands yes) I just towel it off. It doesn't even tingle.
I do all of that. More like: Warn the new people just in case.
I'm an EMT and college student, I come in contact with far more dangerous fluids than nicotine.
im going to be little mr. chicken here... personally I don't use 100mg. I don't think it should even be sold. 50mg is more than strong enough as an upper threshold for what people should be working with. And at 100mg if you accidentally use it twice (I once i took samples from my nic solution but didn't realize it, thought I had taken the second one from my 0mg PG) you're going to end up with a juice that's like 50mg or something.
My suggestion would be to get some 0mg PG or VG (what your nic is) then combine the bottles so that your nic concentration is 50mg. Working with 50mg is not very risky if you take basic precautions (gloves and what not).
IF you are going to work with 100mg nic though, the best suggestions I can think of would be:
- Make sure the area is SUPER tidy with no distractions (you don't want to forget if you took x from one bottle or y from another)
- Have some kind of game plan in case you have a spill. With 50mg I'd just toss some water on it and then mop it up with a rag... but 100mg I'm not sure how to handle that.
- Have a fan or something that gently ventilates the area
Anyway, LOTS of folks on here work with 100mg nic so I'm sure they'll have better advice. I'm mr. chicken about this stuff.

Ok this is a definite don't. All items contaminated with 100mg nicotine should be brought to a hazardous waste disposal site, not the ordinary trash. Sounds like everything else is well planned though. Kudos for asking about this and not being irresponsible.
That really isn't necessary, simply rinse all the contaminated waste with plenty of water before disposal in the domestic waste. Here is a quote from this source:

OMFG more reddit over the top lunacy. Is 100mg nic more destructive and poisonous than Drano? Sulfuric acid? We dump those in the goddamn drain to clean them.
If you want to be nuts go be nuts. Otherwise wash them off and toss them in the bin.
