Well my last batch of e juice didn't turn out the way I hoped. Honestly it turned out exactly how you would expect a first time would. Flavors were bland, bitter or just completely lacked the flavor.
I got all my mint flavors from lorann and all my others from flavorwest.
Blue berry and grape were ok, I had to put about 3ml to 15ml just to get a faint taste. I tried a pipe tobacco which tasted like play dough. I tried honey wood tobacco which tasted like playdough with a hint of honey.
The only flavor that turn out great was wintergreen. It tastes amazing nice strong flavor and a great after taste that you can still taste after a few minutes of putting it down.
Anyways I went on wizard labs and decided to buy a bunch of the flavor apprentice flavors, they are only 1.49 a piece so I'm not really losing much testing them.
I ordered 555 tobacco which I am hoping will taste like mbv 555. Ry4 type 1J Blueberry extra concentrate Coffee( I'm hoping it tastes like a pre filled cigalike cofu fee) Koolada( to add to my mint flavors) Menthol( experiment with different flavors)
Does anyone have experience with these particular flavors from tfa? Is Tfa a good place?
TFA flavors are good to great.
FW are meh to good, with a couple of very goods.
LorAns are awful to meh.
Capella's are meh to great.
All of the above opinions are IMHO only and there are exceptions to every one of the above statements. I post them only as general guidelines from my experience.
Good to know. The lorann I have were meh, except the winter green that was great. The fw was all meh, the had the right taste but they are very weak. I ended up putting 3 drops of grape in my evod then grape liquid that I mixed its so week. Even with a couple drops of pure flavor in my tank it was still pretty weak.

That's really damned annoying of them.
Seriously. The Sweet Strawberry is my favorite strawberry. Their cheesecake is pretty good too. OTOH, the Glazed Chocolate Donut sounds fantastic, but is unvapable. Luckily it makes a nice vodka drink for the ladies :). Remember that they market their "flavor drops" primarily to dieters, not vapers.
Tobacco flavors have a notoriously long cure time (several weeks to a month) which is unfortunate because I got a few coming in I can't wait to try, maybe some heat treatment can speed it up enough
I took advice from a guy on here to use a crock pot. Put the bottles in a zip lock bag fill the pot with water and set it to the WARM setting, any hotter will probably damage the bottle. I left them in there for 8 hours, every hour though I shook each bottle for about 3 minutes and put them back in.
Its not the same as letting them sit for weeks, but it really does mellow the flavor out and makes them vapable.
The 555 is unvapable on the first day or so but after that its good, at least for me it is.
Wow that's a great idea with the crock pot! I've been plugging my sink, filling it with the hottest water from my faucet and letting the bottle sit in that for ~30 minutes. It definitely improved the flavor, but not as well as I'd like. Thanks for the info, I'm going to try the crock pot method!

Yeh, just make sure you keep an eye on the temp. My pot gets a little to warm so I had to turn it on and off every once In a while.
I tried the microwave trick where you nuke it for 10 seconds, and I felt that it actually hurt the flavor.
Besides of doesn't hurt the try the pot, its one of those things where you're not losing by trying.
But so far In my opinion the pot does the trick.
Koolada and menthol are pretty standard, no matter which flavor company you get them from.
If you want a great 555, go with Hangsen #5, Highway, or TAB Blended. Kick it up a notch with TFA Acetyl Pyrazine (AP).
I was looking at that acetyl stuff, what does it do?
I've used mostly TFA and they are pretty good. I'm still working on a good adv. I use mostly dessert Flavors. I'm also currently vaping capellas vanilla custard alone and it's pretty decent.
My main issue is body. I've vaped creme brulee from viper vape and have yet to find a way to match the fullness of the juice. Even capellas vanilla custard by itself.. The flavor is there but the after taste is light .. It's hard to describe. I have no clue what juice makers use to finish a juice. I'm experimenting with some ethyl maltol to see if that's it.
And I'll probably stay away from loranns. Their pumpkin is a disaster in vaping. I tried to pumpkin up a juice recently and almost destroyed it entirely. I'll probably just throw it away. It's waaaay too strong and doesn't vape well for me.
Some TFA Flavors are light.. Marshmallow for example. I added a ton of to a smores recipe and still it was weak.. I damn near emptied the vial. Graham cracker is similar I think. But their strawberries and cream had a very distinct strawberry without much added. Don't recall percents though.
I always start with a base recipe and then towards the end I'm adding shit to it and not writing it down. Lol. Right now my pumpkin juice is ok but I have no clue what I put in it.
Thanks for the reply.. I am not going to get loranns anymore. There flavors taste perfumy even after steep and if you vape over 3.5v they all taste like cotton candy with burnt taste.
Have you found any good coffee flavors? I don't know if you ever heard of this store but its called"a clean cigarette" they cheap automatic cigs that take 4081( I think) thread cartos. And there coffee flavor taste good, kinda tasted like coffee with a hint of French vanilla coffee.
I used TFA, everything I've mixed came out how I intended, but I havent been fancy yet, never mixed flavors. Made a strawberry and a chai tea. Strawberry tastes of strawberries (smells like that stuff the dentist gives you at the end of a routine cleaning though), and the chia tea tastes like soda (which is kinda like how chia tea tastes to me).
I just started diy myself, only bought TFA flavoring. I've had great success with their flavors. Little to no curing time.
I recommend the Kona coffee and 555 for your coffee and tobacco flavorings. But they definitely need a day or two to cure.
Thank you! I really like 555 so hopefully it turns out good, if it does I'm mixing at least 60ml of it. The coffee I got was this http://wizardlabs.us/index.php?route=product/product&path=79_85&product_id=555 I know most coffee flavors don't taste like coffee but I'm hoping it taste like the per filled cartos you get for a CIG a like. That's the only flavor I liked when I used those. I don't have them yet but they should be here Monday.
I made a 5ml test batch of the 555; 80% vg, 5% 555 tobacco, 15% DW. It's the best tobacco I've tasted; not saying it's the best though.
I haven't had that coffee flavor but let us know if it's good. If not, try the Kona, recommend that flavor. Happy vaping and good luck with the mix.
