I'm new to diy but after juice number 3 I've figured out it's my nic base that tastes awefull. It's a 60mg base at 100% vg from Ejuice4u which has gotten great reviews from the websites I've checked. All my liquids except the 0 nic juice I made, taste and smell like burnt peanuts. It's hardly bearable.
Since the bottle is only 5 days old could it just require more steeping or do you think I just got a bad bottle? The nic base itself has the same burnt peanut smell the liquid has. If the bottle is bad, can I get a veterans opinion on which nic base tastes the best (or is most flavorless)
It sounds like a bad batch of nicotine base, I am sad to say.
I have yet to see a nic base vendor not have this problem occasionally. I have been lucky... I got my base from RTSVapes and it tastes very neutral. But shortly after I got mine, another /r/electronic_cigarette user reported RTSVapes nic that tasted peppery. Same experience with Mt.Baker... I got some nic a while back that was just fine, but other users have reported a peppery taste in some nic base since then. People have been recommending Wizard Labs for nic base, and yet a couple of days ago a user reported nic base from them that tasted peppery.
I'm thinking getting good nic base is purely luck.
Sad for you, sorry... perhaps contact the vendor and ask them, maybe they will try again.
I have a bad batch from Wizard Labs. All my juices taste very harsh and horrible. I emailed them, and told me they are going to send a return kit so I can exchange my bad nicotine. This happened this weekend.
I advice OP to do the same thing.
hmmm, this is kinda disheartening... just got 500ml of nic base from Wizard on Friday... This is my first go at DIY so not sure if I would be able to identify a bad batch of nic.
