After doing DIY for 3 years using the exact same recipe, I decided to start experimenting with different flavors. I'm currently mixing each flavor individually so I can quickly try different flavor combinations without having to constantly deal with NIC, PG, and VG.
My spearmint mix (20% spearmint 18mg 70/30) is cloudy looking. In the picture, http://i.imgur.com/8sLKSwt.jpg its been sitting for 3 days and the juice has now separated into layers (cloudy on the top).
So is this normal with some mixes? Should I dump it, wait longer, try to remove the cloudy layer?
Also, I realize that 20% spearmint is probably quite strong, but I intent on it being a very small percentage of the final mix though it is the main flavor I'm shooting for.
I've had this happen with a couple of flavours... FW Wild Cherry (very very strong stuff) and FW Lemonade in particular. Let it sit a while longer, and don't worry too much.
Thanks :) I've used spearmint for years, but usually mixed it with menthol and peppermint, never on it's own.
It may just be the relatively high strength you mixed it at.
When I mixed up FW Lemonade at 15% it was cloudy for a day... when I tried mixing it with other flavours I had to bring the % down to about 2% or it overwhelmed everything else, and also didn't make the mix cloudy at all.
So I'd say just chill, and continue your experiment. I like the little glass mixing bottles... I got some just like them at my local surplus store.
