I keep getting weird tastes out of my DIY juices that I'm using their sweetener in.
What's the deal here? It's almost like a weird, dry chemical taste.
Try using EM instead, some people use it at 10% on it's own and like it. It can be compared to a cotton candy taste in high percentages
Sounds like you might be putting too much in. I haven't used TFA's sweetener, but that chemical taste usually arises from overuse. What percentage are you mixing it at?
It's Sucralose. Yuck. I have a personal hatred for artificial sweeteners because I get a horrible mouth coating and aftertaste with them. I avoid like the plague, Sucralose, Aspartame and Stevia. Even Xylitol, which is a smoother sweetener but doesn't vape well. The only thing I prefer is ethyl maltol (cotton candy flavor) but I haven't found much of anything that really needs sweetening. As always, YMMV.
As has been pointed out, some people have a weird reaction to sucralose. Firstly, a little goes a long way. You shouldn't need more than 1% in most mixes, I used to use .5%. I've moved on to Ethyl Maltol for everything. It does the job, without being overbearing. You can also mix in 1-2% of naturally sweet flavorings to achieve sweetness without sweeteners.
Don't use sweetener. It's disgusting, clogs your coils, and it's pointless. If you want your juice to be sweeter increase the VG percentage.
VG is 60% as sweet as standard table sugar.
Yeah, but than I lose flavor by decreasing my PG.
Yah don't listen to him. User sweetner. I find ethyl maltol to be the best. I too hate the weird taste you're talking about. I found it really prevalent with Halo juices.
