Due to all of the positive feedback I recieved after sharing my original idea I spent the last few days developing a public, more robust version. The website allows you to search, browse, and share recipes. The unique feature is that you can use the assistant to list all of the flavors you currently own. Then you can search for recipes containing only those flavors.
Right now there is only 1 recipe added. I'll add more as time permits but I really, REALLY need interested people to add recipes. It's the only way it will work.
Thanks for all of the feeback. It's still a work in progress but if people put the effort into building the recipe database I think it could be a really useful tool.
Feel free to report any bugs here or just message me.
Very nice job, it looks great.
Just one thing... I went to add my Apple Fritter recipe and it wouldn't allow me to add a flavoring (Homemade Allspice). I can see why... and it's so nice, I almost feel bad about asking for more, especially since I know about this stuff from a programmer perspective.
Almost. Would you add a "Add a flavoring" thingy?
Edit: Also couldn't add Pistachio Cheesecake recipe... needs FW Pistachio (but FW cheesecake is there)
Sure! I've added FW Pistachio for now...I'm sure there are many more I've missed. I don't want to allow the general public to add flavors to the database. If there are any duplicates with slight spelling/formatting differences it will throw the whole "assistant" feature out of whack. So I think a good solution would be the option to add a flavor that's not in the list (such as your allspice) and a checkbox so users can suggest that the flavor be added to the database.
So if someone wants to add ingredients that aren't available to everyone (like an extraction) they can. But if they want to add a flavor that should be in the list, I'll get a notification and can add it manually.

I agree, this would be an excellent solution.
Thanks for adding FW Pistachio... I've added my cheesecake flavor to the database.
Here are some flavors that were missed: TFA Circus Cotton Candy TFA Ethyl Maltol TFA Horehound
Seedman Captian Black Other seedman flavors listed here: http://www.seedman.com/flavor.htm
Added the Seedman flavors, TFA Circus Cotton Candy, and TFA Horehound. TFA Ethyl Maltol was already in there under "TFA Cotton Candy (Ethyl Maltol)" but the parenthesis were throwing off the autocomplete. I've removed them so it comes up if you start typing "ethyl maltol" now.
You could consider having a legend somewhere to explain the abbreviations to new DIY users (i.e. CAP Capella, PA Perfumer's Apprentice etc.) Otherwise it looks pretty brilliant.
Only other suggestion could be to add a suggested steep time.
Heya, I just submitted a recipe (purple drank from Matt's publicly given recipe on reddit) and only wished I had the ability to go back and edit the recipe to include a note I forgot to mention. Any thoughts?
Currently working on allowing users to "manage" recipes (add/delete/edit). It might be a few days before I'm completely finished. If you'd like to edit it before then just let me know what to change and I can edit it manually.
