Hey all, I own and operate VaporTrailsNW.com
I don't usually publish recipes, but I thought this one was special (a lot of people who have tried it like it a lot more than pre-mixed pina colada)... so here it is!
-
10-12% TPA Pineapple (can damage clear plastics- just a heads up!)
-
3-4% Capella Coconut
-
4% TPA Mt. Dew
-
1-2 drops of menthol
-
2 drops of EM
-
4 drops of TPA sweetner (Sucralose)
Boom! Pina Colada time! If you don't have the same exact flavors, try what you have and see what you can get. I tried some sweet strawberry in the mix, and it was OK, but didn't bring anything special to the table. I also tried using TPA Coconut Candy, and that did not taste right.
Enjoy!
EDIT: I suck at formatting posts. Sorry.
EDIT 2: This is for a 10 ml bottle
EDIT 3: Changed the pineapple name (confused with Capella golden pineapple), and updated about the pineapple flavor and clear plastics.
Thanks for this. I ordered all of the ingredients necessary from TFA (except the capella coconut; I went with 8% TFA coconut extra).
Also got the TFA pina colada flavoring but wanted to do this first. It's steeping now and I can't wait to try it!
Right on! Let is know how it goes. You should be fine with that coconut- I tried it with "coconut candy" and it was not good.
It's delicious and pure, but I feel that the coconut was a bit too strong and lowered it on the recipe for future use. Though, it is still kinda fresh so the taste may change. This is what I went with:
VTNW Pina Colada - 65pg/35vg
- TFA pineapple 10%
- TFA coconut extra 8% (going with 5 next time)
- TFA mtn. dew 4%
- EM sweetener 1%
- homebrew menthol 1%
I did the same thing with the cap. Coconut the first time. Coconut is a crazy flavoring... it has a savory aspect to it that is a turnoff when you use too much, or combine it with the "wrong" flavors.
I can hopefully post up some more recipes on the DIY sub this week!
Where did the mountain dew come from? I can understand most of the other ingredients, but what was the thought process behind the mt. dew
I do one with 10% Pineapple TFA and 4% Coconut Extra TFA, but it's a little... uninspired. I have some Jamaican Rum flavor on order that I hope will give it a kick.
Do you do a lot of menthol flavors? That doesn't seem like it would work well with pineapple but I could be wrong.
Edit: Is this for 10 ml?
We have another blend, Purple Drank, that uses menthol. It has more than 1 drop, and provides a good amount of flavor as well as providing a kick. I may have used two drops of menthol concentration (also, we make our own, so the menthol is "to taste").
I think you should add in the Jamaican Rum flavor- that could give it the twist that it needs! Also, the flavor for pineapple that I use is Golden Pineapple from TFA- is that what you are using?
I have to thank you for inspiring me to attempt a pina colada. I'd been looking for the right coconut and your recipe made me decide to try Capella's. I didn't have exactly the same ingredients, but here's what I made:
10% Capella Golden Pineapple
4% Capella Coconut
4% Capella Sweet Tangerine
..and it is absolutely perfect. This is exactly what I was looking for. You can taste each flavor but none is overpowering. Sweet but not too sweet (I typically avoid sweeteners). And the citrus from the tangerine really does give that extra kick that makes it a great mix.
Thanks again!
Nice mix! I have some sweet tangerine (GREAT flavor), and I thought about trying it in the PC. Glad you made this recipe work for you!
Did you try adding a drop of menthol?
I haven't, I'm not a big menthol fan at all. I might try a drop or two of koolada, though. And yeah the tangerine is awesome, first time playing with this flavor.
