Instead of stockpiling, I just worked my down to 0 nic, so I can just buy PG, VG and flavorings.
EDIT: I'd recommend DIY to everyone. It's surprisingly easy to do. I haven't bought pre-mixed liquids in months. It's a HUGE money saver.
This. The markup on e-liquids is a tad silly to me. Costs me like $2-4 to make 30ml.... and maybe 2 minutes out of one day.
DIY is significantly cheaper. However, the pricing of e-liquids isn't that silly. A lot of the cost in e-liquid isn't in the materials. Its more the qualified lab-tech labor and cost of maintaining a pristine mixing environment. Although, there are a number of basement operations being mixed by people who may not have showered in a week charging the same rates as the good clean-room-like operations. And that is the real reason I started DIY...
Just last night I mixed my first batch of 18mg. I've been at 24mg for 8 months but figured because of the unknown future of DIY juice it is a good time to start doing exactly what you've done, tapering off the nic.
It was pretty easy. I went from smoking 2 packs of Winstons a day for well over 30 years, to 18mg liquids, and within 2 months, I was down to 6mg. I still vape 6mg liquids occasionally, but I have no cravings at all with 0nic. The 6mg just seems to give me the tiny throat hit that I love. I could easily let it go though if I had to.
I bought a liter and a half of 100mg/ml and a liter of 36mg/ml. I'm probably good for a little while...
Do you take any safety precautions when handling the 100mg liquid? If so, what are they? I ask because I've been buying 48mg since the ECF tries to put the fear in you about handling anything higher.
I haven't handled it yet. But I imagine it's not going to be a big deal. Yes, I will wear gloves and glasses.... but really, you just have to cut it in half with PG or VG.
Find an empty bottle that's the same size as your 100mg bottle, pour half of the 100mg/ml juice into it, and fill the rest of both bottles up with PG or VG. Now you have 50mg/ml base. Much easier/safer than trying to use it as 100mg base.
Wear chem-resistant gloves in the least. Although, a splash apron and face guard of some sort is also recommended. A few drips on the skin won't hurt you, but, if you drop something and 0.6ml or more splashes up onto you it would likely send you to the hospital.

It's 3 500ml bottles from wizard labs. Somehow managed to get my orders in just a week before they started getting slammed.
I have 120 mL of 100 mg that is sitting in my freezer currently from RTS Vapes.
Yesterday after hearing about possible taxation of nicotine coming to Utah, I went ahead and ordered another 250 mL of 100 mg from VapingZone.
My plan is to split those bigger bottles up into 120 mL 50mg 50/50 solution bottles and store them that way. Whenever I mix a batch of juice, I'll only be subjecting a smaller portion of my nicotine stash to light at a time.
My ultimate goal is to gradually diminish the final nicotine content in my juice from 24mg to 6mg.
For those of us not in the know... can you elaborate on this April FDA statement?
The proposal comes in april. How long do you think it will take to be enacted?

Wizard Labs is out of stock and RTS doesn't have an option for payment.
I ordered from MyFreedomSmokes this time, only because Wizardlabs was out. I have nothing against MyFreedomSmokes, but I hadn't ordered from them before. I've had great luck with Wizardlabs and would generally always give them my business first.
I'm waiting on emails from WL and RTS before going elsewhere.
Worst case I could walk down the street to the vape store and pick up some 100mg for a small fortune.
and just got a reply from WL. They said when they restocked on the 4th they were sold out in an hour. Didn't say when they'd be restocking.

This reminds me of the fact that ammo is hard to get/expensive these days because some of the nuttier Republicans in the US actually believe that Obama is going to take their guns. Just like how ammo was just about impossible to come by after the elections because the same group of people thought FOR SURE the revolution was coming.
I just bought enough 100mg nic to last me a year, will experiment with my first batches next week. If I have any success with it I will buy more and store it in a freezer.
There has to be a shelf life to this stuff, but I am guessing that over time there will be sources in China that we will begin to trust for nic juice and whatever the FDA ends up doing is not going to be that big of a deal (other than the customs risk).
