#Recap:
Another week has passed us by and, yet again, recipe development and general troubleshooting have been a major part of our conversations over on the discord. From /u/KittyBit8 tasking some of us, particularly /u/isuamadog, with acting as a sounding board while teasing us with the nearly completed Offerings to Buddha. Dog kept up the momentum working alongside /u/ID10-t toward an attempt at a blueberry thin mint recipe that I cannot in good conscience share here. After striking out there though, the two were not to be deterred and moved onto their attempt at aping an orange sweet heat skittle. That adventure appears to have gone markedly better. Keeping the momentum up this weekend /u/unappreciatedrobot and I put together a first pass at Booze at the malt shop. The stated goal was "something I can shake and vape" but we apparently got derailed almost immediately. Even so, the result was a creamy chocolate shake with a shot of bourbon. That's far from the extent of the activity this past week on the discord, but a few things that stood out, probably because they all happened in the past few days. Honestly, without keeping notes all week I can't do justice to the amount of recipe development and general discussion carrying on week to week.

#Introduction:
It's all about collaboration! From the recipes that shook out in the most recent Showdown to the means of judging that showdown, to daily discussions on how to construct a given recipe or what flavors can be safely added to an upcoming order or just some casual conversation, we are constantly reminded that we aren't all mixing alone here, but have an entire community full of knowledgeable and helpful people with whom we can interact daily.

#Idea:
It isn't about how long you've been mixing, whether you're clinging to your graduated cylinders or if you've never mixed by volume before, what atomizer you're using, or what profiles you like to vape. We are all looking to make something tasty, and if we can have some fun in the process that's all the better.

#Today’s discussion topic: Mash-ups. Not just combining two or three things that are obviously compliments, but playing off of contrast is a major point in the culinary world and shouldn't be overlooked in mixing flavors for your juice. Let's talk about how flavors can be paired in unexpected ways to make something delicious. Maybe someone's got an idea to help marry gin and hard candy together? Maybe you've got your own idea that sounds like half of a disaster, but you'd still like to try to piece it together? Come on over to the discord (or, as always, carry the conversation on here) and see if we can make harmony where it seems chaos is all that can be found.

I’m not going to make some outlandish promise about when everyone will be active, but with a spread of users from around the world, and a particularly evening and late night friendly bunch, 5pm EST right on to the wee hours of the morning are as sure a bet as any if you’re looking to stop by and say hello.
